Beach Boardwalk

Welcome back to my post-war memories.

In this memory, I was with my family, including my children. Mary Anne was 11 years old, which meant that I would be 42 BUT I could somehow look half my age. Same goes for Mel. We were in our 40s but we looked pretty young somehow. The ladies of my family wore bikinis while the men wore shorts. Everyone’s belly buttons showed one way or another. We were walking along the concrete part of the beach rather than the sandy part because my family took my feelings into consideration. They knew pretty well that I hated sand with a burning passion because they felt nasty. Yikes. We all looked quite excited, about to get ready for a barbecue since we brought coolers.
